The semester is ending and I am getting lots of emails from my students on how to get the most out of the summer break. So here’s a little list, in no particular order, (which I might keep on expanding later on) outlining some of the things that might make your summer productive. Make a study group: Find some fellow thetas, pick up a tough, interesting book (Knuth anyone?), distribute chapters/topics and teach each other....

Since I’ll be staying here for a while, it’s probably better to try and keep myself in practice. Sohail has planned at least two failed trips to Cambridge and from the looks of it, I wasn’t going to get my acoustic any soon. Besides, it’s probably a good idea to poke the rocker inside me a bit and switch to something more err… current. Thus this cheap throw-away(?!) Encore from Amazon....
The next time you need a capo and can’t find one, get inspired. Here’s a makeshift capo that I made from an almost empty lighter and a hair band.You can use a pencil, pen or anything else which presses the strings firmly, in place of the lighter. Moral of the story: ضرورت ایجاد کی والدہ محترمہ ہیں
